Crafted in Scotland’s Highlands from the spirit born in Glenmorangie’s famously tall stills, this 25-year-old release embarks on a maturation journey that begins in bespoke American bourbon casks and is elevated by a finishing touch of Malmsey Madeira wine casks.
Finished at a graceful 43% ABV, The Altus opens with a bouquet of carnation, rose, orange blossom and honey — intertwined with ripe peach, vanilla, almond and nutty toffee. On the palate, luxurious layers of mandarin, apple, pear and peach are met by tart gooseberry and yellow plum; sweet butter-candy tones melt into marzipan, icing sugar and ripe banana. The finish is long, harmonious and sweet — a refined echo of Glenmorangie’s signature house style.
Quarter-Century Maturation – Twenty-five years of ageing in custom bourbon casks, followed by a Madeira wine-cask finish, realise the distillery’s vision of “what if?”.
